Earl E. Eastwood of Bethel filed petitions for Republican nomination to Congress from the Sixth District. A 14-year Buckeye State political figure and former Clermont County farmer, he served as a CI Property and Supply Officer at Wright-Patterson AFB in 1942-44. He is known as a U S Constitution expert and has lectured in 28 states, with about 60 campaign addresses in 1950.

Special Grand Jury Session Called For Kidnapping Case
A special session of the Clermont County Grand Jury is scheduled next Wednesday to consider the kidnapping case of John Campbell 36, Evanston, accused of abducting his former wife Catherine 34 at gunpoint from her Miamiville home. Campbell is jailed in Batavia on 3000 bond with Carroll Cofield and Clarence Garby connected to the investigation.

Driver Fined $150 By Batavia Mayor
William Miller of Roundbottom Road Newtown was fined 150 dollars and costs with 50 remitted by Batavia Mayor J F Paschal after his auto crashed into a fence near the Stonelick Tourist Court on Route 60. He testified he remembered nothing after leaving a Milford tavern and was carried to jail.

Manufacturer Dies Headed Two Firms
Final rites were held Monday for N. A. Nelson, 76, who with his son Vernon operated Nelson Industries at Hamlet. The firm made natural wood souvenirs and novelties. Nelson formerly headed LeMontre Manufacturing Co in New Richmond. Burial was in New Richmond Cemetery. A son and two daughters survive along with another son.
