Clerks and Trustees Meeting Tonight at Courthouse Annex

The Clement County Clerks and Trustees Association will meet next Thursday January 16 at 8 p.m. in the Courthouse Annex large conference room. State Representative William Massey will speak on the legislature and County Auditor Arnold Stumpf on appropriations, per president Carl Ritter.

Mussey Named to Two House Committees

Ohio House Speaker Charles F. Kurfess appoints Mussey to the Agriculture and Conservation and Local Government and Urban Affairs committees for the 108th General Assembly. He cites farming as a major district industry and aims to influence East Fork and White Oak Creek reservoir developments.

County School Board Adopts Budget

Clermont County Board of Education reorganized with William Braselton as president and Joseph Evans as vice president. The 1969 budget of 265 000 dollars, up 21 000 from 1968, funds a new speech therapist and a psychologist. Regular meetings set for the second Wednesday at 9 a.m. in the Main Street Courthouse Annex.

Clermont County designated as Economic Growth area

Clermont County earns recognition as an Economic Development Growth area under the Appalachian Development Plan. Albert G. Giles and Rep. William H. Massey announce certification to Clermont County Commissioners Arthur Blake Stanley Cann and Harold Bissantz. A growth-potential certificate will be presented at the Industrial Discussion Luncheon on January 23 at the Royal Oak Country Club.

Seek Voter Approval For CNE Bond Issue

The Clermont Northeastern School District asks voters on January 21 to approve a 390000 bond and a four year half mill tax to secure 767553 state aid for overcrowded elementary facilities and other needs. If rejected, the funds go to a district with approved bonds. Polling locations listed with contact numbers provided.

Clermont County attracts first blue chip industry

Cincinnati Milling Machine Co. to build a plastics-processing plant at Afton starting in April. Governor Rhodes and county officials praise the project as a boost to Clermont and Ohio. The plant will begin with 60,000 square feet and create about 150 jobs, with long term potential to grow as the company expands its new line of plastic injection molding machines.

Owensville PTA Backs Bond Issue

The Owensville Elementary PTA Executive Committee endorsed the Clermont Northeastern Bond Issue to be voted on January 21. It scheduled a series of pre election meetings including January 14 and 16 in the Owensville Elementary Auditorium and January 20 at 7 30 p m. Council Ponders Water Supply and Sewer Projects

Herb Hoberg outlined cost estimates for sewer plant corrections at 30000 to meet state discharge standards and noted the project must start or finish by May. He discussed water extension options including a 4 inch main at 23000 and a 6 inch main at 27000 with a 38000 stand pipe, the latter deemed best. Nine homes on three streets exist, with neighboring landowners possible to share costs to boost property values.

Clermont Bond Sales Reach 67.8 Percent of Goal

Clermont County volunteer savings bonds chairman Charles Schneider reported November sales of 18237 dollars. By November 30 the county had reached 678 percent of its annual Savings Bond and Freedom Share sales goal.
