A short circuit in a battery charger likely caused a blaze that gutted C Fred Motzer’s garage and auto parts shop at Main and Walnut Milford. The 40 by 60 foot building sustained about 20000 dollars in losses as roof and second floor collapsed. Firefighting efforts were hindered by freezing water as both Milford and Terrace Park departments fought the blaze for hours and several antique car parts were ruined.
