Boat Owners Must Remove Craft From Stonelick Lake

Edenton Ohio news reports that boats left on Stonelick Lake through March 1 will be deemed abandoned, impounded, and destroyed. State park manager William Hopkins says craft may be slid up to five feet onto lake banks for storage, with ten days to move them to avoid violation.

Figures Show How Street Decoration Money Was Spent

Paul Blocher, chairman of the Batavia street lighting committee, released a financial statement detailing how the $805 contributed by merchants and civic groups was allocated. Costs included $879.12 for plastic center decorations, $366.04 for wire and sockets, $60 for sessional help, $60 for green roping, and $3840 for red ribbon and oil cloth wrapping. Installation costs and meter work remain with CG&E. Blocher said additions next year could build a stronger stock of decorations to attract residents.

Fire causes $1,000 damage at Batavia storeroom

A fire in a storeroom behind the Dairy Bar and Clermont Hotel in Batavia caused about $1,000 in damage. Marie Rice discovered the blaze as the Batavia Fire Department, led by Chief Jake Laffleur, responded. the cause remained unknown.
