Fruit growers from across the county will gather at the U B Church in Batavia for the Clermont County Fruit Growers Assn annual meeting led by President O T Brown. Southern Ohio Workers Receive Over $30,000 in Back Wages
About 1,150 Southern Ohio workers will receive or have received a total of $30,975.45 in back wages after U. S. Wage and Hour Division settlements in December. The restitution reflects the difference between paid wages since October 1938 and amounts due under the Fair Labor Standards Act. Regional totals show December restitution in Ohio and Michigan reached $126,786.25 for 3,366 workers. Grace G. Glasscott said 1941 settlements total $1,479,404.04 for 35,561 employees in the two states, with Ohio earners receiving $955,132.05 for 23,489 workers.
