Tire Rationing Board Formed by Clermont County Council

Clermont County Defense Council convened January 3 1942 to appoint a County Tire Rationing Board coordinator and advisory members. J M Wiseman was named coordinator. Mayors reported boards organized in Batavia Milford Williamsburg and other towns as pending state approval.

Representative Will Be Here Tuesday January 13

A representative from the Cincinnati Social Security Board office will be in Batavia at the courthouse in the conference room from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday January 13 to answer questions about the Social Security program and help claimants fill out papers. City Officials Take Posts Tuesday Evening

At the first meeting of the new city council on Tuesday evening Mayor Neil B. Dennison administered the oath of office to the council. New members include Paul Blocher Clark Gregg Fomer Wilson W B Miller Dr C B Smith and Ed Plarrott. Ralph Majewsky sworn in as village clerk and Open Hulick as treasurer, both succeeding themselves. Chief Burl Brooks reappointed and will continue as long as service is satisfactory. The village marshal election was abolished enabling the chief's position.
