Cancer Society names Clermont Ed ucation Committee and county stats

The American Cancer Society Clermont County unit names its Education Committee led by Mrs Eloise Ellis. Members include Mrs Mary Ruth Stevens Mrs Ruth Greene Rev W Richard Waddle Harry Moore O H Sharp Mrs Etta Maye E Jones Mrs Betty Fennell and Ralph Clyburh. Ellis cites 1967 projections of 435 county residents under medical care 153 deaths and 285 new cases with 95 saved by prompt care.

Curfew Enforced in New Richmond Over Vandalism Spike

Police Chief John Van Camp reminds New Richmond residents that the 9 p.m. curfew remains in effect and will be enforced for vandalism cases. Parents of violators up to age 18 will be cited to court.

Jan 20 Deadline for County Dog Licenses

County Dog Warden Logs December Intake and Placements

The report shows 158 dogs collected in December by Dog Warden Fred Wile and assistant William Thompson. Of these, 123 were destroyed and 26 placed in homes, with 23 cats destroyed. total receipts listed at 164 for license sales pickup fees and for feed of animals returned or rehomed.

No Dissenters On Appalachian Road

A public hearing disclosed a 9.6 mile Appalachian Highway plan in Clermont County aligning with S R 32 from Batavia to Mt. Carmel. The project, costing about 7.2 million dollars, would include interchanges with R 32 and R 133 and cross the Norfolk and Western Railway and East Fork of the Little Miami.

The Cincinnati and Suburban Bell Telephone Co seeks county permission to bury 7200 feet of conduit on Glen Este Williamsville Rd from Route 125 to Clough Pl due to approaching capacity. The county will discuss the plan after past sewer and utility dig ups.

Commissioners Approve 1967 Department Increases

The Coury Commissioners approved a 1967 operating budget of 22119.89 for all departments. The total excludes 1 115 000 earmarked for bridges and highways, with operating increases of five to 10 percent across departments except Coury Treasury. Capital improvements were carried forward from last year’s budget.

Judge Rules on Felicity-Franklin Bond Vote

Common Pleas Judge Harold D. Nichols ruled the Felicity-Franklin Board of Education may proceed with a $300,000 bond issue. The Nov 8 election favored passage and was certified as failing due to ballot wording requiring 55 percent. The court held the board intended a simple majority under state law, cautioning future filings specify the correct section.
