Hayden Delivers Nomination Speech for Speaker of House
John Hayden representing Clermont county in the General Assembly delivered the nominating address for speaker of the house. Critics praised the speech for William M. McCullough of Miami county as among the best in years. Hayden was named Chairman of the House Inaugural Committee for Governor-elect Bricker and Chairman of the Highways Committee with 23 members, plus Vice-Chairman of the Education Committee. He was re-elected last November by the second highest county vote, defeating his Democratic opponent by over 2000 votes.

A mentally distressed man, about 35, believed to have escaped a Nebraska asylum, was found buried up to his neck in a haystack on the Wm. Cowquill farm at Hamersville Friday.
