Governor Pattison appeared in a glass cage over a register with foot warmers during the inauguration. The scene, described as a strange innovation, left Pattison unfazed by the ordeal though observers joked about nursing bottles in the background. He exited warm and dry, muttering about friends.
The Presbyterian church began a week of prayer on Monday night and continues through Friday night with services at 7 pm. The Milford traction bridge accident report continues as Ralph Race of Newport dies from injuries suffered when a derrick collapsed during construction. Race, 26, was hospitalized in mangled condition after the incident two weeks earlier, marking another fatality from the Milford Bridge catastrophe.
Friday night in Wil Wilmington two Clinton county women were attacked by a negro named Winslow who demanded their money. The victims Mrs Ethel Con way and Mrs Gaskill escaped uninjured and Winslow was arrested and jailed after being identified by the complainants.

Washington telegram announces the death of former sheriff William H. Pickelheimer who died in Washington at the end of December aged about 70. He served as sheriff in 1867 and 1869 as a Democrat from Wayne township. Immediate predecessor James Crosson also a Democrat from Wayne, successor John R. Woodlief a Republican from Miami township later Batavia resident.

Early worshippers met in homes and on land donated by Charles Robinson Sr. The log church had puncheon seats, a wood hinged door, a stone fireplace, and two end windows. Ben White a brick yard employee narrowly escaped being crushed when a freight car rolled down a track and pinched him between two cars. He freed himself with a mighty push and jump, suffering only a bruise and nervous shock while continuing his duties.
