Biles Named Head Coach for Houston Area Team
Houston area hires Biles as head coach and notes his family includes wife Jackie and several children. A 1949 University graduate and Amelia High alumnus, he led Musketeer grid teams from 1962 to 1968 with a 39-28-3 record, peaking at 8-2 in 1965. He moved into scouting for the Saints in 1969 and quickly rose to assistant coach, later becoming defensive coach for New York two years later.

Tarvin Named Union Two Trustee Candidate
Tarvin, a 1959 Amelia High School and 1963 UC graduate, taught history at Colerain High School and spent five years in public relations with Blue Cross Blue Shield. He led a retired doctors group and lives on McLean Drive with his wife and two children, including Amelia Junior High student and Ricky Wuerdeman. He was nominated with Wuerdeman as vice chairman.

Falling tree injures driver of sewer truck
A Clermont County Sewer and Water District truck was demolished and its driver injured when a three foot diameter hickory tree fell onto the roadway on December 28. Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Thompson said the accident involved the district’s operations administrator Gifford was cited in the incident.

Court hears challenge to proposed salary increases for county officials under a new state law. Prosecution claims the plan is partly fraud based and an abuse of discretion. Commissioners deferred action at a December meeting. an emergency session was held to consider the measure.
