Needy County Children Benefit From 1954 Christmas Fund
Miss Frances Reese thanks many friends and organizations for gifts and donations to the 1954 Christmas fund aiding 372 needy children. Recipients include Batavia Rotary Club, Miss Anna Glancy, and numerous churches and groups across the county. Deliveries and wrapping were handled by probate Court workers, health and welfare staff, and volunteers, with sewing by Minnie Dawson and Frank Turner.

Mrs. Louella Gillham, 91, of Cincinnati, was found by trapper Phil Colonel along 10 mile Creek bank near New Richmond after an all night exposure. Her mud stained clothes, lack of shoes and coat, and hip pain led to her hospitalization at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital Mariemont. Chief Spaulding notes she likely rode a bus here and planned to walk home when she slipped and slid down the bank attempting to climb the hill.
