Batavia Officers Hold Five Boys For Questioning
Five Cincinnati youths were arrested on a side road near Nine Mile Road by Batavia officers and held for questioning. The car they rode in, thought to belong to a father, was stuck in mud near a summer camp area. Officials said items were taken from a nearby office and a dog was detained with the group as they were questioned by Judge Orville Halbisch.

Woman Dies at TV Show Buried in Illinois
Services were held in Lawrenceville Illinois for Audra Conover 53 who collapsed and died while watching the Meet the Ladies show over WCPO TV last Monday. She was the wife of Herbert R Conover assistant manager of the Cincinnati Union Terminal and is survived by her son James and daughter Patsy Lantz and two grandchildren.

The Amelia village council approved a 25 year electric power franchise with Cincinnati Gas and Electric Company. Former wholesale purchase and resale at four cents per kilowatt hour plus 75 cent service charge will end as Route 125 widening requires relocation of lines. Street lighting starts at 125 dollars monthly. Residence rates tiered from six cents to two and a half cents per kilowatt hour with a demand charge. New Richmond Fires Blamed on Failing Siren
The failure of the fire siren contributed to about 5500 in damages from two New Richmond fires. George Wolf found the siren silent after discovering a fire at Log Cabin Inn east of town. neighbors spotted another blaze at Ralph Willis home on Center and Sycamore. Fire Chief Allen Carnes estimated 4000 damage at Willis residence and 1500 at Log Cabin Inn, both blamed on defective flues.
