Sheriff Croswell and Deputy Kain arrested Dora Slater of Mariement Marathon Friday night after he allegedly fired a revolver into a house twice while attempting to talk with Mrs Swatto Best who refused admittance. Slater was jailed, disarmed, and held over to the grand jury after a mayoral hearing. Britton & Britton are his attorneys.

Jimmy King 20 of Alexandria Ky was found unconscious on the A and P Highway near Palestine below New Richmond last Thursday morning by M Falkenberg who notified Sheriff Croswell. King recently left Cincinnati Hospital where he was treated for a broken leg and was found with crutches and a plaster cast. A note on him denied theft and left 30 acres of Georgia land to his sweetheart Helen Woodward whose mother had urged him not to return. The note suggests he expected to be found dead and he is with relatives in Alexandria.
