Russell Simmons, first Republican Clerk of Court in Clermont County in 42 years, was sworn in by Judge Chris Rosenhoffer. He defeated Mark Reynolds after Reynolds was appointed to replace the late Ralph Parker. Incoming clerk takes office Jan 6. attending include Simmons family and staff.

Cin cinnati Milling Machine Co has optioned 127 acres in Clermont County between Williamsburg and Batavia for an industrial park site. Interchange rights sought with the Appalachian Highway. Early reports suggest a molding and processing plant for plastic products with up to 1500 jobs.

Judge Hill Injured In Head-On Crash Near Perintown
Clermont County judge Ralph A. Hill age 44 of Milford sustained multiple serious injuries in a head-on collision on U S 50 near Dry Run Road at 3 p.m. Monday December 23. Also harmed were Tom G. Harrington 19 of Hillsboro seriously hurt and Clinton Lowe 18 a Hillsboro resident with minor injuries. Harrington was reportedly passing another eastbound vehicle when the crash occurred, Hill’s car struck an embankment and left the roadway. Hill remained hospitalized at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital Mariemont with a broken hip knee ankle and other injuries.

Residents must have lived in Clermont County for at least one month and birth reported to The Courier by noon on Jan 7, 1969.
