NAREB Luncheon Speaker To Visit Milford Area Realtors

Harold Clingerman, regional representative for the National Association of Real Estate Boards, will speak at a 11 a.m. luncheon at the Homestead Inn and meet officers at 2 p.m. at the Golden Lamb Lebanon. A Nebraskan with 25 years in real estate, he has been on NAREB staff since 1956.

GOP Club Speaker Raymond Shannon to Address Clermont Group

Raymond E. Shannon Hamilton County prosecutor will speak to the Clermont County Republican Club at 8 p.m. January 9 at the Frank W. Weaver American Legion Hall near Batavia on St. Rt. 32. He will discuss office problems with humorous notes and recount show business ties, followed by club plans including an auction, August chicken barbecue, and an October ox roast.

Man suffocates in Glen Este fire victim named

Glen Este Chester Cornett 44 of Ypsilanti Michigan died of suffocation in a house fire at 4519 Glenridge Lane owned by Mr and Mrs Charles Frederick. Fire chief says chair fire started from a cigarette. Loss estimated 7000 dollars. Moore funeral home Batavia handles arrangements.

Highway Dept Buys Land for Clermont County Garage

The State Highway Department purchased six acres from Mr. and Mrs. Paul Brown for a new Clermont County highway garage. The site near Chapel Road on Rt. 132 will host a 60 by 120 foot building with a 12 by 40 office, costing about $130,000. Russell Simmons chaired the project and withdraws from clerk of courts race to push the project forward. 15000 feet of guard rail along Rt. 52 from Bear Creek to the Brown County line will be removed and stored for reuse.

Clermont Ends 1963 In The Black At County Government

Clermont County officials report 1963 closed with all bills paid and December obligations cleared. Auditors note $942,672 in general funds available for 1964 and potential extra income from Treasury notes and delinquent taxes. The board plans for a new Common Pleas judge in 1965 and notes rising operating costs and prior improvements including a highway garage and a school for disabled children. Wayne Oney asks for $211,012 more for disability aid as part of a potential $25,000 shared funding from the federal government. Denver Lockadoo receives $45 for three ewes killed by dogs.

Forage Institute Set January 9 at Batavia Church

Farmers feeding livestock are invited to a Forage Institute at Batavia Presbyterian Church on January 9 from 9 am to 3 pm announced by W W Hamilton County Extension Agent Agriculture.
