Land Bank Pays Dividend to 92,000 Members
The Federal Land Bank of Louisville has paid about 465000 in dividends to its stockholders, the 142 national farm loan associations across Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee. Terrace Park Country Club Destroyed by Fire
Fire wiped out Terrace Park Country Club in Clermont County on a Saturday, causing an estimated $30,000 loss. The blaze started on the roof and was spotted by Mrs. Betty Goodman, wife of the manager Vernon Goodman. Milford Terrace Park Madeira and Indian Hill fire crews fought the flames without enough water pressure, despite extending a line from the nearby Little Miami River. The former Woodward residence, bought in 1930 and remodeled with a summer swimming pool, was empty, though golfers on the scene assisted in removing equipment before fire crews arrived.

Fayetteville Veteran Bernard Carlier Killed in Accident
Bernard J. Carlier, commander of the Fayetteville American Legion Post, died after his car skid off a road near St. Martin Ohio and hit a tree. He served 36 months in the Army including the 82nd Airborne and earned the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Survived by his wife in Cincinnati and two brothers in Cincinnati and Fayetteville.

Clermont County Records Two Infantile Paralysis Cases in 1946
Infantile paralysis is unpredictable and local. In 1946 Clermont County reported two cases to the Health Department, both teen age boys in separate communities. The year 1945 had three cases including a fourteen month old child who recovered fully and a young woman with leg involvement. During 1940s a total of ten cases were reported with two deaths. The remainder showed varying recoveries and lingering deficits. Hospitalization and long term after care are essential and funded by March of Dimes contributions supporting all patients regardless of age race creed or color.
