Batavian Passes Frank Davis Jr former A G aide dies at 64
Frank Davis Jr former Assistant Attorney General in the Wilson administration and Batavian native died in Washington D C at Garfield hospital after ten days of pneumonia illness he was 64. He retired in 1921 to join Palmer Davis Scott law firm and was praised by Chief Justice White for his government service. He is survived by his widow Nancy House Davis a daughter Amy Dean McCoy a son Robert a sister and his father Judge Frank Davis Sr. Funeral services were held from his father’s home and burial followed in Union cemetery.

Fruit Growers' Meeting Set at Amelia Town Hall Friday
Annual meeting of the Clermont County Fruit Growers Association will be held Friday January 3 at Amelia Town Hall with a 10 a m start. Banquet at noon will be free to members and families. Membership stands at 95 as acreage expands and cooperative purchases of insecticides and fertilizer are highlighted with bids from leading dealers. Odd Fellows to Install 198 Officers at Forestville Meeting
The 75th District Odd Fellows plan a Forestville school hall gathering on January 11 with Grand Master J. M. Fitzpatrick in attendance. 198 subordinate officers will be installed by visitors and Past Grand degrees conferred, followed by a 6:30 banquet. Holiday Fires Threaten Batavia Businesses
Fire at the I. O. O. F. store room in Batavia damaged E. R. Foster's new grocery store White Villa and ruined stock, with brick walls and iron ceiling containing the blaze. The I. O. O. F. hall and bakery escaped major damage though rugs scorched. Hotel roomers prepared to flee as flames were fought by volunteers and firefighters. Everything damaged insured. Earlier, the tenant house on F. A. Brown farm near Red Bridge burned with unknown origin and was partly insured.
