A March drive launches to raise funds for the Clermont County Society for Crippled Children. Funds Set for Clermont Health Clinic and Hospital
Clermont County Board of Health learns federal funds may cover up to one third of land and building costs for a public health clinic with local matching. A similar grant, minus land costs, could finance a county hospital. A 100 bed hospital may cost about twice the 1.2 million dollar bond issue voter defeat in 1952. The board has no action plan and cites space limits and a need for a second sanitarian.

Red Cross Month Proclaimed In Several Counties
March is Red Cross Month in Clermont, Boone, Campbell, Hamilton and Kenton Counties with no fund drive. Nelson Schwab Jr., chairman of the Cincinnati Area Red Cross, says residents are asked to volunteer at local branches or the Cincinnati Memorial Building and to enroll in free Red Cross courses in lifesaving first aid care and baby care.

Man Held To Jury On Forgery Count
John West Jr 34 of Dayton and former Batavia resident was arraigned on check forgery charges before Batavia Mayor J F Paschal and held for grand jury action under $1000 bond. West was sought for some time and was apprehended near Mt Holly by Sheriff Clyde Dericks and Deputy Bob Burnette.

Motorist Injured As Car Hits Pole in Batavia Area
Dale Fancher, 31, of Rt. 1 Batavia, sustained facial cuts and tooth loss after a car left Rt. 125 near the Hamilton Clermont line and snapped a utility pole. Driver Willis A. Conn, 33, of Be th el, was uninjured as he claimed slick pavement caused the skid. Fancher was taken to Our Lady of Mercy Hospital by a passing motorist for treatment.

Police trap foils thriftway robbery. two dead
