Milford wins Clermont title in boys finals over Williamsburg

Milford High School clinched the Clermont county basketball title with a 35 to 28 victory over Williamsburg amid a 550 crowd at Williamsburg gym. Milford’s Si Cramer and Don Jordan led with 15 and 10 points while Williamsburg’s Jim Vearil and H. Vaught added seven each. Girls finals set for Amelia tonight feature Milford versus Owensville after a close Felicity win in the earlier round.

Drama Festival Postponed Then Rescheduled in Batavia

The Clermont County Drama Festival originally set for February 15 at the Batavia U B church was postponed due to bad weather and re scheduled for March 1 at 8 pm. The event promotes religious drama as spiritual education with a silver offering after the performances and homemade candy for sale by the council. Two dramas by Mt Holly Christian Chapel and Higginsport Methodist Church will be staged under the Christian Fellowship Parish led by Rev Donald L West and Rev Ged S Hunt.

Three Autos In Accident Near Andres Store Mt Carmel

Three cars were involved in a crash Thursday at 6 30 PM in front of Andres Store Mt Carmel. Mrs Knabb suffered a fractured arm and both she and her son were bruised. Walter Mendenhall and Sy Bryant were injured minor and Bryant's car escaped damage. Mrs Knabb was treated by Dr Adams at Newtown.

Surprise Verdict In Burglary Trial At Newport

Jesse Brown 32 of Newport Ohio was acquitted by a six man six woman jury after about one hour of deliberation on two burglary counts. He and three Newport men were extradited from Kentucky last year in a case tied to two Goshen burglaries. Brown awaits transfer to Pickaway County authorities for further burglary charges at Circleville.
