4 H youth Larry Sprague honored by utility firm

Larry Sprague state 4 H winner in electric receives recognition from Cincinnati Gas and Electric Co. Vale Bee presents a soldering gun. Westinghouse Electric Co. certificate also awarded. Amelia girl killed in Rt. 749 crash near Batavia

Beverly Longhauser a 15 year old from Amelia died when a car overturned on State Route 749 two miles west of State Route 132. Four others were injured including niece Marjorie Liming 14 Jennie Henderson 15 and driver Billy O Neal 18. O Neal cited for speeding and driving left of center. Services held at T P White Sons Mt. Washington with burial at Mt Moriah Williamsville. Surviving relatives listed.

Drama Course for Area Youth Opens March 8

LWV To Study Civil Rights In The League

The Clermont County LWV will hold a special meeting on Thursday March 4 at 1 pm at 110 Wood Street Batavia to study existing and possible civil rights legislation. Mrs Hugh C Nichols chairs the group with helpers Mrs A C Bachmeyer Mrs Robert Smith Mrs William L Mercer and Mrs C W Zugelter. The program will compare Ohio civil rights laws on employment and public accommodations with those in other states.
