Forfeitures to the State amount to 22350 across 375 parcels. Foreclosures date back to 1932. steps require nine months to proceed with advertising, then two more years before action.
The West Clermont School District postpones action on creating a new Glen Este area district until after March 2, while residents prepare for a separate operating levy vote. In Dayton last week educators from Clermont County and Owensville, Felicity Franklin, and Cham paign Illinois discussed using Britannica Films materials to study Spanish in elementary schools. Foreign Language Consultant Jane Fletcher demonstrated films and cue sheets for La Familia Fernandez to promote early language exposure and accent development. Spanish instruction with audio lingual methods begins this semester in two Clermont County elementary schools.
Owensville Elementary School fifth graders learn Spanish from Mr. Llewelyn and Felicity Franklin School sixth graders study with Mrs. Dean as two pilot studies proceed. Students and teachers show enthusiasm for the new program.
Amelia High School teacher Tom Jones announced a volunteer volley ball clinic for February 24 at 7 p.m. at the school. AAU official Irvin Carroll of Cincinnati will conduct the session and invite schools to send representatives and varsity players. Contact Jones at 755-8509 for details.
Funeral services were held for Dr. Frederick S. Skeen of Batavia. Former Clermont County coroner, he died after a lengthy illness at the Batavia Rest Home. Survived by wife Helen son John daughter Patricia one grandchild and sister Julia Williams. He served as county coroner 1947 to 1954 and held multiple local posts.
A tribute to Dr. Fred Skeen who died at 52 after 26 years of compassionate service. The physician battled chronic pain yet dedicated himself to patients, offering free inoculations and heartfelt guidance to thousands, with wife Helen and children by his side.
Tom Jones and John Lutz of Summerside claim a river trip from Williamsburg to Batavia along the East Fork covered at least 20 miles in one day. They launched at noon in a 10 foot John boat, reached Sportsmen’s Park by 7:45 p.m., and finished the last four miles in darkness with no flashlight. They reported rocks caused several jams, one lost oar, and noted excitement at the Burg Twin Bridges dam. They invite others who may have done the feat to share records and asked to view spectator movies of the journey.
Clermont County welfare officials refer needy clients to the Clermont County Clinic of the Planned Parenthood Association of Cincinnati for birth control information and services. The clinic, open Mondays 6 to 8 pm at Mt. Moriah Church, serves those on relief with no charge, and reports 139 women served in its first 11 months, 99 new patients and 422 visits.

The $450,000 building gains a variance for side and rear setbacks and off street parking after initial denial, with $650,000 of equipment planned for toll free service in the Cincinnati Metropolitan area. Total company investment exceeds $1 million. Don Evans appeals 1963 zoning ruling for his Third Street property between Main and North Streets.
