County Planners Await AG Opinion on Jail Center Grant
County commissioners must obtain an Ohio Attorney General opinion before using a 7100 advance of a 21563 planning grant to study replacing the jail. The advance arrived Friday but no legal basis exists for the contract. The prosecutor will seek AG guidance on next steps. The county engaged Prindle and Patrick of Columbus for the study and hopes to sign if legal.

New Richmond Annexation May Be Decided Next Week
The plan calls for expanding the village eastward by annexing several hundred acres on Bethel Nes Richmond Road. Durkee notes council backing, water extension at owners’ cost, talks with CG&E for gas, and minimum lots of one acre with additional five and two and a half acre parcels. Jury Settles Applachia Acreage Dispute Near Batavia
A 36 acre tract at SR 222 and SR 132 north of Batavia sold for 30 300 to Dr. Stanley Rafalo after a 10 member jury resolved a valuation dispute. State appraisers valued the land 20100 to 21450 dollars, Rafalo’s appraisers 112000 and 88000, with rezoning cited as raising value. Rafalo had purchased 75 acres including the parcel for 25000 in 1967.

Stolen Electrical Goods Recovered In Milford Area
Detectives from Cincinnati with Clermont Sheriff and Milford Police raided two downtown Milford storerooms at 133 Main and 209 Elm streets and recovered thousands of dollars of stolen electrical supplies from A Knoll Electric Supply Co of Cincinnati. Knox Electric Co identified the items. One former Knoll employee faces charges. name withheld.
