Coach Bob Coulson’s undefeated Batavia Bulldogs win CCL basketball title for the second straight year. They conclude with Mt. Crab in a latest game and return to Batavia about 10:45 p.m. Saturday Feb 13. A public reception will honor the squad and refreshments served.

Clermont County Junior High Tourney Kicks Off Saturday

Eight teams compete in the Clermont County Junior High basketball tournament starting Saturday February 13 at Amelia and Northeastern high schools. Tournament manager Robert Hines and assistant manager Charles Long are coordinating with Nick Visnic of the county office. Semifinals occur February 19 at Northeastern with finals later. admission is 75 cents for adults and 50 cents for students.

Government To Stay Rhodes Township Chairs Columbus Meeting

Ohio Governor James A. Rhodes vowed township government will stay as long as he is governor at the state convention in Columbus. Clermont County sent eleven trustees clerks with officers Harold Bissantz Batavia Township Harley Clark Pierce Township and Minton Christman Miami Township. Rhodes urged township trustees to push government from townships to Washington and support airport development to attract industry. Congressman Robert Secrest warned that if metropolitan government is adopted townships would lose the best government.

Freakish Five To Pit Skill Against Booster Bouncers

The Glen Este Athletic Boosters Club hosts a charity basketball game featuring the WSAI Freakish Five against the Booster Basketball Bouncers at Glen Este High School gym. Public Hearing Set March 17 On Subdivision Rule Changes

Clermont County Planning Commission schedules a public hearing in Batavia at 8 p.m. on March 17 to discuss amendments to subdivision rules. Buckley notes changes aim to end barracks style layouts and allow staggered setbacks and use of terrain and trees. The revised rules remove 15 pages of pre construction specs, replacing them with new standards.

Feed Grain Signup Opens in Batavia County

The 1965 feed grain program signup is under way in Batavia with Carey as chair. The voluntary program covers corn grain sorghum and barley, offering diverted acreage payments and price-support loans. Diversion rates allow 20 to 50 percent of base or up to 25 acres, with higher rates applying if base and diversion meet thresholds. Applications are accepted at the ASCS County Office in Batavia Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.

West Clermont to Seek 5.5 Mill Levy in March Election

Amelia Ohio West Clermont board votes to place a 5.5 mill operating levy on the March 2 ballot. The levy costs 5.50 per $1000 of property value and lasts five years. It aims to raise teacher pay after a prior 2.5 mill levy failed in November and December. Bus service was curtailed January 18 to fund a raise, with eight drivers receiving half pay for extra layover time.

Mrs Frances Gallagher is named deputy registrar in Batavia with offices on West Main Street for drivers licenses and license plates. Bids Opened for Dublin Acres Drainage Repair Project

Clermont County Commissioners opened bids Monday to correct drainage in Dublin Acres Subdivision Miami Township. Engineer Carl H. Rush estimated the cost at 12 112. Darrell Harper Construction Co Cincinnati submitted the apparent low bid at 11 630. Other bidders included William Light Construction Goshen Clemons Excavating and Trucking Goshen and Aven Cincinnati. Bids referred to Rush for review.
