The Clermont County Athletic Committee finalized plans for the County Basketball Tournament at Williamsburg High School gym. Games start Thursday Feb 24 at 7 30 pm with four sessions and two games each. Winners reach semis and finals to crown champions, with a consolation game for semi final losers. Admission 86 cents plus 4 cent tax.

New Richmond Relics Sent to Museum in East
Two antique hand pumped fire engines from New Richmond Clermont County, the Pilot and the Hunneman, dated 1809 and 1876 respectively, will move to a New York museum after years of storage and a flood. The bells from both engines were preserved, with the Hunneman bell now on a modern truck in New Richmond.

Clermont Boy Recovering in Army Hospital

Hecktor, of the 168th Infantry, is a convalescent patient at Moore General Hospital in Swannanoa North Carolina after eight months in the European theatre and a detour to a North African hospital. He returned to the United States January 12 and is expected home soon for a furlough. His family members in Clermont visited during the convalescence.
