A barn on the Schwall farm in the Afton area burned Sunday afternoon, destroying cattle gear and seed supply. Tenant Howard Philip, newly married and starting a farming venture, faced ruin as his horses, harness, wagons, and seed grain were consumed. The barn belonged to the widow of George Schobert, drawing community sympathy for the loss.

Loveland Woman Emily Maxwell Dies Sudden
Mrs. Emily Maxwell died suddenly of pneumonia on Wednesday afternoon at age 74. She was the mother of Walter H. Maxwell manager of the Palace W E Maxwell of Atlantic City and Frederick Maxwell of Loveland. She had left Loveland Tuesday to visit her son and died the next day. Funeral services were held at the Palace Friday and her remains were cremated per her wishes.

Sudden Death of Mrs. Lewis Nash Near Amelia
Mrs. Lewis Nash, 68, died Saturday evening at her farm two miles west of Amelia after a brief illness described as apoplexy. She collapsed while milking, recovered briefly, then died three hours later. Survived by husband, sister Mrs. LaFayette Nash, and three Moore brothers from Clermont and nearby towns.
