Amelia Woman's Club hosted a two to six pm musical event at Mrs. Frank Hitch's home in Amelia on February 20. The afternoon featured a music contest with clever object representations and an "A Musical Romance" Q&A on piano by Miss Pease. Prizes went to Miss Nina Bethymer and Mrs. John Slye in the first and second contests. Mrs. John S. Parrott won the second prize. Rev. Howard Billman of Batavia, longtime pastor, was reported as accepting a Hillsboro call but later information suggested he would remain in Batavia.

Tragic kitchen fires claim two Goshen and Williamsburg children
Little Mabss Fitzwater of Goshen died after her clothes ignited from a kitchen stove last Wednesday and lingered until Friday. In Williamsburg two Foltz children, ages 3 and 6, were burned when a lit match set the sister's lap ablaze, with the boy 5 causing the flame and the sister dying Saturday morning.

At Fletcher Place M. E. church in Indianapolis a baptismal font was dedicated in memory of James Laycock Brunaugh infant son of Mr and Mrs H P Brunaugh. J D White longtime Mt Holly postmaster died in Cincinnati last Friday on a city street while en route to a doctor. Papers on his person showed ties to Western Union Telegraph Co and two company staff were summoned to identify him. He had been ill ten weeks and had left Western Union work after being diagnosed with throat cancer. He was buried at Spring Grove cemetery Tuesday.
