Batavia Interact Club aims to bring a foreign student to Batavia High School for the coming year with local family hosting and school approval. The Batavia Chapter of American Field Service must raise 730 dollars. costs exceed 750 dollars and can reach 2000 dollars, with the American Field Service in New York City providing remaining funding. The Interact Club pledges 100 dollars and other local groups plan support to foster international relations.

Clermont Man Found Dead in Charred Bass Island Cabin

The burned body of Jerry Miller, 25, of 3607 Nine Mile Rd., was found early Saturday in a burned cabin at Bass Island near Newtown. Police say Miller was asleep when he left the place and that Richard Wilson, 3807 Round Bottom Rd., reported Miller. The Newtown Fire Department responded at 5:33 a.m.. Miller’s body was located at 7:10 a.m. Anderson Township Life Squad transported the body to General Hospital.
