Getz Named Ohio Farmer Assistant Editor in Columbus

Richard F. Getz of Loveland has been hired as assistant editor of The Ohio Farmer in Columbus. The 1954 Ohio State University graduate will oversee production, marketing and general farm information for a publication read by more than 100,000 farm families in the state. Getz has prior experience with the University of Kentucky beef cattle program and eight years with the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation, and recently worked in money management for Investors Diversified Services. He and his wife, two daughters, a son, and a daughter-in-law will relocate to Columbus after the current school year ends.

Bethel-Tate Fire Department fought two fires Saturday morning. A Bantam hatchery owned by Attorney Robert Harris lost 3500 laying chickens and 7000 value in building damage. At Rt 133 and Charity St a Willis Hodge garage fire destroyed two cars a tractor and more with 10000 in contents and 10000 in building loss.

Settles Attends SMS Seminar

Principal John P. Settles of Batavia Elementary School and county judge testified that Hargett was advised of his rights and could not have understood all counts. Prosecutor Robert A. Jones led the case as Hargett, then jailed for burglary, aided by James Troxell in a jail escape and home invasion near Batavia. They were captured two hours later and later attacked deputies with homemade weapons.

Twelve deputy registrars will issue 1967 license plates in Clermont County starting March 1 1966. About 42000 passenger cars are expected and revenue may reach 725000 for local jurisdictions funding roads and services. Thirty-two residents of Clermont County with various disabilities were rehabilitated in the past year per the Ohio Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation. The state spent 15,293 on direct rehabilitation and Clermont County’s total case services outlay reached 17,130.

Ohio OKs 9.6 Mile SR 32 Relocation to Appalachian System

Ohio Highway Director P E Masheter approved relocating 9.6 miles of SR 32 and designating it as a limited access highway. A Batavia public hearing on January 5 supported bypassing Batavia and Williamsburg to the north as the route becomes part of the Appalachian Highway system. The plan reroutes near Batavia West, passes around Batavia, and reaches the Clermont Brown county line. existing SR 32 will revert to local street and county highway systems when opened.

Newtonsville man set for March hearing in shotgun wound case

Raymond E. Cornwell, 20, of Newtonsville, faces a shooting with intent to kill charge after his brother James, 27, was wounded in the groin at their home. James remains in critical condition at General Hospital Cincinnati. Hearing moved from Monday to March 2 with police chief Thomas Shreves filing the charge and Cornwell in jail on $500 bond.
