Monoxide Gas Victims In Fatal Amish County Tragedy

Delmer Richards 21, Mildred Carson Storer 17, and Frances Jeane 8 months were found dead in a Ford on Deerfield Road in front of Ashton schoolhouse. The coroner ruled accidental death from inhaling monoxide gas from the exhaust. Richards worked for White Williamsburg Chair Co. and was single. Mildred was separated from her husband Harry Storer and living with her father Harry Carson. she had filed for divorce in Clermont Common Pleas Court. The bodies were moved to Daily & Maham Funeral Home in Williamsburg for burial preparation.

Batavia Wedding Unites Neva Finley and Herbert Fratt

A marriage service was held at Rev E Burdsall's Batavia home on Saturday evening February 9 1929. The bridal couple Herbert L Fratt of N and W and Neva L Finley of Batavia exchanged vows in a snow covered setting with Edwin Berger of Afton and the bride’s twin sisters Aca and Verda Finley as witnesses and ring bearer. The couple planned a short wedding trip amid warm congratulations.

Williamsburg Board to play business men in basketball

The Williamsburg Board of Education schedules a Wednesday night basketball game against the local business men on February 13 to raise money for school needs. An admission of 20 cents for adults and 10 cents for children under high school age will be charged. Refreshments will be served.

Clermont County Board of Education reorganizes for new year

The Clermont County Board of Education met February 4 with Burdsall as president and Gaskins as vice president. Superintendents set dates for sectional County Oratorical and Musical Contests at Owensville March 22 New Richmond March 26 Bethel March 25 and Milford March 20 for the final Inter-County Contest at Cincinnati Memorial Hall April 13.

Strange Accident In Batavia Area Injures Local Man

Frank M. Kain visited the Moyer garage Friday to watch Raymond Treton test a Ford motor on a wood sawing chassis. A wooden pulley shattered sending fragments into Kain injuring his leg and face. He was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital by Wm. Moore with Dr. VanHorn attending.

A Candle Light Communion Service follows with full choir rehearsal Wednesday after Bible Study. Quarterly conference set for Feb 20.

Batavia claims the Dermont county title under the Frank W. Weaver Post 237 American Legion. Rabid Jersey Cow Destroyed After Rabies Signs

A Jersey cow owned by Chas. Pringle was killed last week after showing rabies symptoms. Dr. Fitzpatrick examined her and described signs such as convulsions triggered by chicken sight or a hand slap. The cow’s origin and biting animal remain unknown.

Prohibition Case Fines Bid In Clermont County Court

Jas Parsons of Bethel was fined 2650 dollars and costs after being found guilty of liquor law violations in Clermont County. Judge Chase White presided as the bootleg issue stirred county politics. Herbert Meach of Ten Mile was dismissed with a warning after his wine was deemed vin egar.

Clemons murder bill filed to appeal on error

A bill of exceptions was filed in Clermont County Common Pleas Court to carry the Irvin Clemons murder case to the Court of Appeals on error. Clemons is serving a life sentence in the Ohio penitentiary for murdering his uncle on October 18.
