Batavia's American Legion meets to back a new fire-fighting outfit, obsolete gear to be replaced. They offer to reorganize and man the company, solicit funds, stage a March benefit play, and cooperate with the village council to ensure town protection and training for volunteers.
Robert Beard pled guilty before Mayor Harry McKeever to operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated on Williamsburg streets. He was fined 100 dollars plus costs and his driving privileges were suspended for six months.
Mrs. Kearns wife of Representative C. Kearns of Ohio gave a luncheon at the Carlton Washington on February 5 in honor of Mrs. Cooper wife of Governor Myers Y. Cooper of Ohio. Attendees included Mrs. John Cooper Mrs. Charles Thompson Mrs. Royal Fitzgerald and other Ohio congressional wives. The event drew over 600 callers the next day at the Congressional Club.
Springfield dispatch reports the Illinois Supreme Court granted a rehearing in the Modern Woodmen of America insurance rate case.
