A Batavia resident, Mrs Barbara Rush, reports a burglary Saturday night with an intruder entering through a back window. About 60 men gathered after the alarm but the thief fled leaving muddy footprints and a sharp shoe mark. this marks the third widow’s home hit recently.

Addie Lewis of The Lewis Motor Co. Batavia sustained serious injuries when he fell through a hay mow hole while helping on his father's Nicholsville farm. He struck his head, was unconscious briefly, and is now seriously ill with feared skull fracture as doctors monitor his condition.
Rosa Humphries infant daughter of Jas and Mrs Humphries fell into an open fire at their home near Afton last Wednesday evening and suffered severe facial hand and arm burns. Dr. Leever treated wounds and the Red Cross secretary Mrs Massey took the child to Cincinnati Child's Hospital on Friday. Condition listed as serious with possible loss of one eye.
