California Man Sentenced to 200 Days for DWI
Clarence Robbins of California was convicted on a second offense for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Judge White sentenced him to 200 days in jail with no fine and allowed home leave to attend to business. He was away on Tuesday, with the sentence effective from Saturday.

Fayetteville Gets Federal OK for Sewer Water Plant

Polk that federal approval is given to Fayetteville Brown County for a new sewer system disposal plant and water system. Batavia High School basketball swept three games with Georgetown and Bethel, both boys and girls teams winning. Batavia girls beat Georgetown 20 to 10 led by Lucy Keen with 10 points as Audrey Krekeler and teammates stifled Georgetown. Boys edged by Georgetown 38 to 35 in a tight clash with Justin Townsley scoring 11 for Batavia. Bethel girls fell 37 to 15 while Bethel boys lost 44 to 30. Captain Tommy Colburn, William Singleton with 15 and Lowell Rust with 11 lead Batavia. Referee “Tippy” Dye received praise for offciating.
