Batavia High School will compete with Princeton and Covington Latin Sunday Feb 9 at 5 30 on Its Academic. The show is sponsored by Cincinnati Gas and Electric and Union Light Heat and Power. Miss Katina Theodossiou toured Greater Cincinnati predicting world events using a computer. Vivienne hosted the visit, and Miss Katina could not forecast Dayton and Columbus dates.

Real Estate Tax Duplicates Mailed in Clermont County

Byron Ross announces the first half 1968 real estate tax statements have been mailed and duplicates opened for collection. Final payment date without penalty is February 20. If statements are not received, taxpayers should contact their Building and Loan Company or the treasurer’s office for address issues.

Relatives of Raymond Campbell a 24 year old hemophiliac appeal for blood donations to replace 80 pints already given and more needed after another hospitalization. Area Youths Face Burglary Charges

Four youths aged 15 to 17 linked to a Clermont County burglary ring face charges for 12 break-ins in Amelia and Bethel over five years. Victims include Harlow Tractor Sales Bethel, Starlite Theater Mt Holly, Archie Lee Boyce American Legion Bethel, and Bruffey Chevrolet Bethel. Earlier arrests linked to W. W. Plumbing Amelia. three other youths nabbed for stealing a skylight at Branter Lane Elementary School.

Judge Frees Coyne Under Shock Ruling

John Coyne, 25, of Cincinnati, released on probation under the shock law after brief prison exposure. He had been sentenced to one to ten years for illegal possession of a machine gun and had been in prison since November 1968. The ruling marks the second release under the provision praised by Judge Harold D. Nichols.

State Funds Subsidize Free Lunch Costs in Clermont County

Clermont County schools will receive state funded reimbursements of 15 cents per lunch for children on welfare. The Welfare Department will bill monthly and the program covers 650 recipients while districts must meet state and local eligibility criteria. Trustees Seek MGS Water To Attract New Industry

Williamsburg Township trustees urge Clermont County to extend the Miami Goshen Stonelick water system from Owensville along SR 276 to Half Acre Road Afton and possibly to Toll Gate Road SR 32 creating a loop to Afton and Williamsburg. Mrs Nathanson To Face Court In Murder Charge Hearing

A hearing set for February 14 in Clermont County Common Pleas Court will determine if Mrs Helen Nathanson 34 understands the murder charge against her to stand trial. Judge Harold D Nichols will preside. She is accused of shooting her husband Mel during a Sept 7 1963 pool area incident at Summerside.

Early Date Set For Afton Mill Groundbreaking

Mericle announced the Afton mill project with ground breaking planned in the first week of April. Steel for the new facility will be ordered in two weeks and machinery is ordered daily. The plant will produce plastic molding machines for home and industrial use and plans include hiring 160 workers initially, about 100 from Clermont County, with no industrial waste expected. Paul Franke, new club president, chaired his first meeting.
