Williamsburg Schools to Receive Televised Educational Programs

Williamsburg High and elementary schools will be equipped to receive televised lessons as MPATI begins demonstration telecasts January 30. Fourteen series will run weekly through May 25 1961 with eight elementary courses and six for higher levels, including science and languages.

County Villages Split $15,700 Liquor Fee

The fourth 1960 quarterly liquor license distribution totaling $1,694,628 was mailed to 688 municipalities and townships with licensed taverns. Clermont County received $15,700 as part of the year end payment, marking the final 1960 local government distribution and bringing total receipts to $9,048,192 for wet cities, villages and townships.

Fire damages Amelia post office blamed on wiring

A fire at the Amelia post office at 2 p m Monday caused about 300 in ceiling damage. Passerby alerted the BMOP fire department. flames were confined to the ceiling and no mail was damaged.

Countian Dies As Train Rams Truck At Sharonville Crossing

Edwin Althoff age 50 of 821 White Oak Rd was killed when his Helms Express tractor-trailer was struck by a Pennsylvania train at a Sharonville crossing while turning onto Evendale Dr. The train, moving 60 mph, dragged the cab a quarter mile and debris injured railroad workers. Althoff survived by his widow Dale and many children. he was buried at Mt. Washington's T. P. White and Sons funeral home.

County Officer Completes Army Staff College Course

Army Maj. George E. Ritter, son of Mr and Mrs George Ritter of Goshen, completed the 16 week associate course at the Army Command and General Staff College Fort Leavenworth Kan on December 16. The 364 U.S. officers and 35 allied officers heard General George H. Decker speak at graduation. Ritter is assigned as an instructor with the U.S. Army Medical Service Meat and Dairy Hygiene School in Chicago Illinois. He is a 1942 Goshen High graduate and 1946 Ohio State University alumnus. his wife Gloria resides in Hinsdale Illinois.

Kiwanis Farmers Net $460 on Crop

New Rich mond Kiwanis Club in New Richmond raised its first self grown tobacco crop, selling 1065 pounds at Ripley Market for 650 dollars. After fertilizer, tools, and trucking costs, the club cleared 460 dollars for community projects on land leased from the New Richmond school district.

Seven Injured In Christmas Day Rt. 125 Crash

On Christmas Day a two car crash on Rt. 125 near Rt. 222 injured seven people. Mrs Eve lyn Riley 27 of Bethel turned left into oncoming traffic injuring passenger Vivian A. Smith 12 Louise Adkins 15 Esther Adkins 13 Charlotte Adkins 14 and Mrs Riley. Albert D Hughes 24 of Covington Ky drove the other car and suffered facial injuries chest bruises. Mrs Hughes listed in fair condition at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital. All others were treated and released.
