Williamsburg Man Killed and Housekeeper Injured in Train Crash
Delmer Waite aged 62, a Williamsburgh truck operator and stockman, was killed when the 4:40 West Bound Norfolk and Western train struck a track where he and Mrs Prudence Caldwell 50 rode. Mrs Caldwell was critically injured and taken to Bethesda hospital Cincinnati after treatment by Dr C B Martin and Dr Carl Minning. Waite died at Bethesda hospital. funeral services were held Sunday. The crossing at Second Street had no signal.

A Monday night fire at 9 p.m. gutted the home of Arthur Brown near Bethel on Route 125. The Bethel fire department ran out of water after initial containment, allowing the blaze to destroy the building and its furnishings. Estimated damage set at 6000 dollars. Browns were in Bethel when the fire started, believed to have begun in the basement near the furnace.
