Escape attempt leaves two injured near New Richmond
Night patrolman Harold Beech chased two men speeding through a 36 mile zone. Green Crowder Jr and Ellis Crowder of 2162 Florence Ave Cincinnati Ohio wrecked their car a mile west of New Richmond along route 52 after switching headlights. Both men were treated for minor cuts at Bethesda Hospital.

Appeal Fails For Convicted Gunman Powers Loses Ohio Supreme Court
Clarence Powers of near Moscow failed before the Ohio Supreme Court to overturn his sentence for shooting to wound Morriss L. Jordan. Powers waived a jury trial and was tried in Clermont County before Judge John H. Houston. He argued he should have been tried in his own county. The court ruled seven to zero that no debatable constitutional question existed and dismissed the appeal.

Driver Pleads Guilty in Intoxication Charge
George Glenn twenty six of Batavia pled guilty to driving while intoxicated before Mayor Paschal and received three days in jail and a $100 fine. Patrolman Kalchek cited him for driving without a license. the license status awaits a motor vehicles bureau check. Under Ohio law a DUI conviction cannot be punished with less than three days in jail.

Robert Kirby, 46, of Route 4 Batavia, was struck at Second and Main by Harold E. Brown driving a car. Kirby suffered a broken back and was taken to Bethesda Hospital in poor condition. Brown was jailed in Clermont County on drunken driving charges.

Brothers Held For Grand Jury
George Hartwell 28 and Howard Hartwell 21 were captured near Afton after a week long search by Clermont Brown and Hamilton County authorities. They are held to the Clermont County Grand Jury on breaking and entering charges with bonds of 5000 and 2000. Mrs Hattie Hartwell 50 mother of the pair is bound to the grand jury on receiving stolen goods with 2000 bond and faces a juvenile delinquency contribution charge to be heard by Judge Orville Halbisch.
