No Gambling In County Crackdown Warns Offenders

Robinson Wins Case Against Insurance Group
James F. Robinson of Locust Corner won a $2,650 judgment in Court of Common Pleas before Judge Harry Britton. He sued Sandy and Beaver Valley Farmers Mutual Protection Insurance Company over home fire loss last April. In Clermont County, a petition asks the Mt. Carmel Glen Este School District to lift a suspension of six year old Joseph Blomer who was expelled for refusing to pledge allegiance. The suit cites Jehovah’s Witness beliefs and cites a 1943 Supreme Court decision. A temporary restraining order is sought to restore the boy to school.

After Clermont County property revaluation, the County Treasurer will collect about 84,067 more in 1947 than 1946. Fruit Growers Meet Draws 94 Attendees at Batavia
Ninety four farmers attended the annual fruit growers meeting in the Batavia school cafeteria on Monday evening. H. J. Bolender presided as president and T. H. Parks and Frank Beach were present. Howard Elliott from the local Experiment Station spoke on DDT use. Beach stressed higher quality fruit for future markets and lower prices, while Parks focused on insect pest elimination to raise quality. County Agent W. W. The Frank W Weaver Post of the American Legion bought an 18 acre tract with 600 foot Route 74 frontage from Mrs Mary Katherine Sellman for 1775 dollars as a potential permanent home. Christmas Program at Williamsburg School
Williamsburg school presents a Christmas program Monday December 23 at 8 00 pm in the auditorium directed by Mrs Louise Krum featuring a chorus of over five hundred pupils from elementary to senior high.
