Clermont County Prosecuting Attorney Robert A. Jones was named Ohio’s Outstanding Prosecuting Attorney of 1980 at the Ohio Prosecuting Attorneys Association convention in Columbus. Hamilton County Prosecutor Simon Leis presented the award, praising Jones’s long public service and 26 years in Clermont County. The record notes Jones began in 1954 and was recognized as an outstanding trial attorney in civil and criminal matters.
Lawrence W. Gregory Jr., 6616 Britton Court, Cincinnati, had his probation revoked in Clermont County Common Pleas Court after failing to meet terms from a 1977 conviction. Judge Ralph A. Hill reimposed a 4 to 25 year prison sentence to be served consecutively with a Hamilton County rape sentence, while Gregory planned hospitalization during appeal.
