Batavia Council Inducts Kalchek and Hagglee in January
Kalchek and Walter Haglege were elected in November and will be sworn in for full terms at the January organization meeting. Hagglee, already a council member, was returned to that post. The council indicated it will cooperate with local clubs on a community tree planting project replacing removed maples with sweet gum, mountain ash, maple and pin oaks on West Main Street. Ten trees will be purchased by the council. clubs will buy the rest and more may be donated as memorials. Planting will be by village youths. The Cincinnati Gas and Electric Co. offered free use of the Foundary Avenue garage. Action on paying half the Juvenile Court Judge Jackson’s requested juvenile officer salary and on the PUB water system hookup was deferred.

Harsha Granted 10 Day Leave After Eye Surgery
