A health department message urges Clermont County residents to limit contact with coughing or sneezing people, avoid crowds, ventilate homes, eat well, drink water, and rest with fever to protect others. Parents are asked to keep excluded children indoors and address symptoms promptly.
Taxpayers must heed January 15, 1946 as the final payment deadline for 1945 estimated income tax. If 1945 income was underestimated by 20 percent or more after January 1, 1946, amend estimates and pay or file a final return by January 15. Those who paid the fourth 1945 installment must file a final return and pay by March 15, 1946. Corporations face December 15, 1945 as the fourth installment deadline for 1944 tax.
Graham I. Smith of Batavia was named a corporal in the Culver Rifle Honor Guard in a special order. The honor guard, founded in 1931, is a crack infantry exhibition unit known for intricate drills and maneuvers. Smith returned to Batavia for Christmas vacation.
