Twenty Moonshine Stills Destroyed by County Officers
Sheriff Rapp and Deputy W E Kain disposed of twenty moonshine stills after seizure across the county during the year. The copper stills ranged from teapot size to a six barrel tank and were loaded onto a truck for disposal in Cincinnati. The county earned about eight cents per pound, roughly fifty dollars, with sixteen gallons of moonshine remaining in a tin container likely to be dumped in the sewer.

Lexington Kentucky December 4 Italian Regio has purchased Burley tobacco from the Burley Tobacco Growers Cooperative Association for the third time. President James C Stone of the Burley Cooperative announced another sale to the Italian government monopoly. The quantity was not large but occurred in a field new to Burley usage, suggesting the Italian factory has found Burley stimulates demand for its cigarettes.

F G Brandenburg on the Frank Bedham farm near Spring Hill reports the greatest corn yield of the season in Clinton county. On eleven acres the Yellow Dent variety averaged 102 bushels per acre, while the whole crop across 72 acres averaged 80 bushels per acre. Brandenburg says he was not aiming for a record, yet his 102-bushel field qualifies him for Ohio’s 100-bushel class.

Ohio Public Utilities Commission Orders Police to Arrest Unlicensed Drivers
The Ohio Public Utilities Commission directed that all motor bus and motor freight line drivers without chauffeur licenses be arrested by motor bus inspectors. Clermont county and Columbiana county are the only U S sections where commercial orchards are being planted with optimism from horticultural authorities. The rise in orchard activity follows poor markets elsewhere and is seen as a favorable omen for producers as young trees mature. The Summerside cowtesting association with six members and about sixty cows links to the Co operative Pure Milk Association of Cincinnati. Members weigh and sample cows, send data to the Co operative Station, and receive full records. testing costs are $1 for the first five cows and 50 cents for each additional cow. ABethel testing group is planned soon with field visits to members.
