Christmas Fund Aids Young Patient at Cincinnati General
Glen Rogers a two month patient at Cincinnati General Hospital recovers with help from the Ruth Lyons Christmas Fund. The fund provides toys rooms and gifts at 95 tri state area hospitals and has raised nearly six million dollars since 1939. Librarians Meet At Lebanon For SWORL Conference
The Council of SWORL the South Western Ohio Rural Libraries met December 3 at the Golden Lamb Inn Lebanon for a business meeting and luncheon. Librarians from eight counties trustees from Lebanon and representatives from Butler and Hamilton counties attended. Miss Doris Wood chaired the session and Barbara Micheel spoke on policy and catalog processing. Attendees discussed book selection the Hot Line program and interlibrary access to Cincinnati and Columbus resources. The event ran from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Electrical Fire Halts Batavia Plant Production
An electrical fire at Robertson Steel and Iron in Batavia caused about 1000 in damage to the wiring and stopped production for eight hours on Tuesday. Plant superintendent Bruce Westover said the blaze began in a buzz box outside the plant at 7 30 a.m. Flames reached 50 feet and an inlet box above the main power supply burned. Unknown cause. possible bird nest shorting the wiring. Industrial electricians restored wiring as second shift prepared to resume.
