Neediest Kids Gifts collection points named in Clermont County

Norman Nedeau, chairman of the Clermont County Neediest, listed locations across Clermont County where new toys and clothing for needy children can be dropped. The annual program by the Clermont County Council of the American Legion has aided nearly 900 county children over its five years.

Woman Dies In Crash On 125 In Ohio

Mrs Nettie Holland 67 of Hamersville died from multiple injuries after a two car collision at Hopper Hill Road and Route 125. Her husband Carl 70 and Verna Cahall 50 of Georgetown were severely injured. Dianne Campbell 33 of 2347 Wollangie Road drove one car. her son Todd 3 escaped injury. The act distributes funds to Clermont schools totaling 267 460 with 41 446.12 for Williamsburg and 22 523.86 for Goshen. Goshen receives an extra 3 668.68 for 15 students residing in Warren County.

Batavia Doctor’s Wife Dies in Route Crash

The wife of Dr. Carl A. Minning died after a car left the highway, hit mailbox lines, and overturned near Batavia. The vehicle caught fire and was extinguished by a passing motorist. She died at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital after rapid arrival by the Batavia Life Squad.

530 Families Approved for Food Stamps in Clermont County

Welfare Director Wayne Oney said more than 530 Clermont County families were certified to buy federal food stamps this month. Eligible residents can apply at the County Health and Welfare Center on Route 222 north of Batavia for January purchases.

County sales tax climbs in Clermont figures

Clermont County sales tax receipts rose from 25 860 to 29 628 between November 14 and 27 as state treasurer John D. Herbert reported. For the period July 1 to November 27 the tax total stood at 387 658, up from 352 621 last year. Vehicle and trailer tax declines from 31 464 to 27 060 in the same window.

Robert E. Ogden, 23, of 3376 Cole Road, Amelia, was bound over to the Clermont County Grand Jury Monday in county court on six counts of destruction of communications equipment. Bond of $1000 was set on each count.

Mt. Carmel Williamsville unit 72 plans a pot luck supper before its 7 p.m. meeting on Friday December 10 at the post on Weiner Lane. Members should bring a dish, table service, and a 50 cent gift plus a new toy for a girl or boy ages five to seven for Neediest Kids of All. Former Batavian Doctor Dies at Boone County Airport

Dr. Thomas Hulick aged 87 an Evanston physician of 50 years and a former Batavian died last Thursday at Boone County Airport while awaiting a plane for his yearly Florida trip. Services were held at the family’s convenience and burial.

NYC Agencies Seek New Home for Youth Corps Office

Neighborhood Youth Corps leaders briefed Clermont County Commissioners on relocating offices after youths in the program are kept at the County Health and Welfare center after hours. Hugh Brady, NYC director for the Cincinnati area, announced the move and noted counseling for youths will continue in the new evening location. The Welfare Department and other programs have already moved, with the building’s first floor being converted for a school for retarded children.
