Clermont County's new Court House will be opened and officially dedicated Saturday afternoon December 19 at 2 p.m. Judge Carl V. Weygandt is invited to give the dedicatory address. Mrs. Mary Kirkpatrick, Batavia's oldest citizen, died Saturday at age 98 after a brief illness. She lived with nephew Thomas A. Keen and his daughter Nettie. she was a M E church member. Funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. Burial in Union Cemetery. Also, Batavia M E church ladies host a turkey dinner and bazaar Wednesday December 16, with glassware and other gifts. meal at 5:30 p.m. for 50 cents.

Elder Elmer Binning Found Dead Near Bantam
Elmer D. Binning 44, recently elected county commissioner on the Democratic ticket, was found dead in bed at 12:40 a.m. Thursday. His widow Pearl Marion found him gasping. a physician could not save him. A farmer near Bantam, he was active in the Grange and a Mason and leaves a daughter Jean. Funeral services were held Sunday at Kennedy Funeral Home Bethel with burial in Bethel.

Map Project Approved in Clermont County
Complete new maps of Clermont County showing all real estate and owners will start December 15 under a WPA project. The $29 350 cost is largely funded by the Federal government. Val Rule will lead the effort from county building headquarters. the project will take several months and improve tax map accuracy. County officials and attorneys welcome the plan, noting Hamilton and other counties already use similar tax maps.
