Hartwell Dies During Hernia Operation at Ohio State Penitentiary
Whit Hartwell Amelia farmer and fruit grower died on the operating table at Ohio State Penitentiary Friday morning after physicians attempted a hernia operation. Hartwell, 65, had been imprisoned ten days after conviction on bribery charges related to Grand Jury misconduct. He leaves a widow and two children.

Bethel-Tate Consolidated School District received notes for about 5180 dollars plus 5301 in vouchers for the third quarter state aid. Men Bound Over in Mt Carmel Robbery Case
Seymour Kyle, 65, robbed Thursday night near Mt. Carmel on his way home from the store. Kyle sustained a bruised head after three men jumped him. W. B. Amelia Employee Struck by Auto Killed in Hamilton County
Kermit Gayhart a 21 year old Amelia employee of the Container Corporation of America was struck and killed by an automobile driven by Earl Boles 32 of Milford. The accident occurred on Eastern Avenue in front of the Container plant as Gayhart crossed toward Miami Avenue while heading to a restaurant for lunch. Gayhart’s death marked the 175th automobile related fatality in Hamilton County since January 1. Funeral services were held Monday at 10 a.m. in Cincinnati.
