By 11 am three masked bank robbers attempted Merchants & Farmers Bank, alarmed by Mrs. Laura Thomas, escaped in an auto with one fleeing accomplice. no clues found. Both gangs remain at large. Earlier Owensville grocery robbery also left investigators empty handed.

Stay of Execution Granted in Workman Case
In Clermont Common Pleas Court attorneys for Scott Workman obtained a stay of execution pending a Court of Appeals hearing. The 40 day deadline was set for extra session review while Workman remains custody of the sheriff. Workman was convicted of first degree murder for killing his wife Nora on August 23 and sentenced to be electrocuted March 31, 1927. A motion for a new trial was overruled.
