Fred Trump, who assassinated Judge Breeding, shows improvement after ten days confinement. He has lost sight in one eye but remains awake, eats, and is guarded by multiple officers. Trial matters loom including a motion for a new trial and potential first degree murder charges.
Obituary recounts the life of Judge Thales P Breeding born 1859 on a Goshen Loveland farm. He served as Batavia mayor probate judge and prominent attorney with a long career in Ohio courts. He died November 27 1915 at age 56.

A pretty ceremony at the Methodist parsonage in Winchester Ohio on December 4 1915 joined Homer Buerkle and Miss Kate Doughty of Batavia. Rev Burdsall former pastor of Batavia performed the ring ceremony. The wedding party included Julian Fishack and wife from Cincinnati as best man and maid, with Batavia guests Mrs Albert Heimrici Mrs Neil Dennison and Miss Elizabeth Marsh and Miss Fenton of Winchester attending. A two course luncheon followed and the couple returned home about 9 pm.
Miss Laura Caldwell, a line operator, dislocated her jaw while at work Saturday night. Mr. Fisher was called and soon reduced the pain. The Sabina Tribune reprints the note from the Journal-Republican.
The Batavia township teachers gathered for their annual dinner at J. S. Hulick’s office last Saturday. A full crowd enjoyed a plentiful feast and good company, continuing a valued school year tradition with several guests in attendance.
The Newtonsville new school building will be dedicated December 18 with afternoon services. It is the first centralized school in the county and will be occupied about January 1. Speakers include James M. Cox and J. D. Clark of Dayton.
The Batavia Lodge No 104 of Batavia Ohio records resolutions for the death of Brother T P Breeding. The committee states loss to the lodge and community, offers fraternal sympathy, and notes the deceased lived a life worthy of emulation. Resolutions to be entered in minutes, published in county papers, and presented to the family under seal.
James C. Taylor died at his Amelia home on Tuesday evening November 9 1915 aged 88 years 4 months and 21 days He was born in Germantown Ohio July 9 1827 the third son of Christopher and Elizabeth Emrich Taylor He served four years in the Civil War with Company I 57th Indiana Infantry and was the last survivor of his regiment He moved to Amelia about 12 years ago leaving a widow one grandson Harry Roberts of Tampa Florida a niece Mrs Elizabeth Geisler a grand niece Mrs Leeota Whitesell and other friends.
The Boy Scouts of Batavia held their inaugural band rehearsal at Jamieson's till on Monday night led by band master P. FB. Jamieson. Present were many veteran members as the group began with a strong start. roster includes Joseph Kidd Forest Ely Harold Nichols Hugh Nichols Albert Buerkle Wil fred Zurmuhle Robert Jamieson Lester Hauck William Bishop Max Seyler Mason Weaver William Moore Paul Coyle T. Joe Weiling of Union township, who previously attempted to murder a boy by hammer attack and body disposal in Union, was paroled October 5. He returned to Clermont, reached Milford November 28, and tried to rob a woman. Arrested for concealed weapons, bound over to grand jury, and sent back to Batavia last Friday morning. Authorities report he remains prone to trouble and temper.
A suit filed in Manchester Adams county alleges use of liquor money and illegal voting in the November election for the village school board. A temporary injunction is in place and the case promises to be both interesting and embarrassing as proceedings proceed.

The Farmers Institute will be held at Newtonsville on December 20 and 21. The event gathers farmers from the region for demonstrations and talks.
Edward Schuster of St. Louis, a freight handler for Anheuser Busch Brewery, swallowed a needle while drinking beer. It passed down the throat, into the heart, causing hemorrhage and death. An autopsy confirmed the needle penetrated the heart from the throat, a first known case.

Robert A. Wilson of Bethel enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in May 1915 and serves among Marines landed in Haiti to protect American interests. He is the son of Arthur B. Wilson of Bethel and part of the Marine Corps, described as the oldest branch of the service and skilled in initial combat roles.
After the county commissioners meeting six candidates vied for infirmary superintendent. Ballots show McMurchy receiving the decisive vote on the third ballot, beating Patterson Daugherty and others. He will assume duties March 1, 1916.
