Goshen junior high offers a new accelerated foreign language course for fifth through eighth graders with IQ 120 or higher. The program, led by Mrs. Wehrle, uses conversational methods and includes French language exposure through songs, posters, and group activities. About 1250 students volunteered for four classes, with some students also learning band instruments and performing weekly.

Dense Fog Fatal Crash Claims Two

Sylvester Bardin, 74, was struck Tuesday night by a car driven by Gilbert Hamilton near New Richmond. He was transported to Bethesda Hospital by the life squad for treatment.

Youth Dies In Crash at Tealtown Road

Vernon Richard Alder 21 of Goshen Pike Mt Repose died after a crash on Tealtown Road near Glen Este Race Bowl. He rode in Theodore Stevens auto with Stevens 38 and Stevens son Thomas 12, who both suffered minor cuts. Funeral services were held Tuesday at Tufts funeral home.

Truck Overturns Driver 68 Killed In Ohio crash

John W. Bessler 68 of Batavia died after his pickup overturned on Owensville Belfast Road one and a half miles north of US 50. He was pinned beneath the truck and died at the hospital. Passenger William Furlong, 45, suffered chest shoulder and pelvis injuries.

Boy Stabbed By Classmate At Goshen School Bus

Robert Cain, a Goshen junior high pupil, was stabbed in the dark by a classmate with a pocket knife as he boarded a school bus. The assailant is held in juvenile detention. Cain was treated by a Loveland physician and taken to Children's Hospital following the incident after a reported argument.

Youth Takes Own Life After Phone Talk With Girl

Curtis Christley 20 of Beechmont Drive near Mt. Carmel died at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital from a self inflicted .22 caliber bullet wound in the abdomen after a phone conversation with a girl. The Hamilton County coroner said he wounded himself before collapsing in his upstairs room.

Dairy Association Banquet Set for December 11 in Owensville

The Clermont County Dairy Association will host its annual banquet on December 11 at 7 p.m. at Northeastern School. Dinner is served by the school PTA. Richard Kelley will speak on COBA's Business and Dr. Riley Dougan will discuss Today's Agriculture. The Clermont County Budget Commission announces approval of 1962 budgets for townships villages counties and schools. Totals show county budgets rising to 660 872 and school budgets to 3 889 288 with library and health increases. village budgets fall to 122 179 and townships rise to 445 874. Tax rates sent to the state for approval and 4.8 percent overall rise in real public utility and personal property valuations.

Batavia Junior Women's Club presented a donation to the Clermont County Neediest Kids Christmas Fund. Move Afoot To Attract IRS Tax Center To Clermont County

John Watson of Williams burg advocates bringing a $2 million IRS data center to Clermont County with 1500 jobs and a $6 million payroll. Rep. William H. Harsha backs the effort as county commissioners urge a regional site study and initiate a $150,000 regional fund. Counties will contribute based on tax base, with Clermont asked for $3500 and others including Hamilton and Montgomery pledging larger amounts.
