Batavia businessman and Korean War veteran John E. Wilson, 32, has been endorsed by Clermont County Democratic Executive Committee to run for the Ohio General Assembly seat vacated by Charles W. Jackson. A partner in Wilson Bros Realtors and former president of local business and realty boards, Wilson served as a first lieutenant in the Air Force, flying 91 missions in Korea and earning the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal. He later taught jet flight engineering at Moody AFB and studied at Wilmington College after Blanchester High School.

Aged Woman Killed by Freight Train Near Branch Hill
Mrs. Mary Kelly Neal, 75, was struck by a Pennsylvania freight locomotive near Branch Hill on Friday night and died instantly. Engineer Elmer F. Wende slowed the westbound train and blew his whistle. the accident occurred at 5 10 p m about a half mile west of Branch Hill Guinea Pike crossing. Tufts funeral home handled arrangements. she is survived by her brother Joseph Kelly and two sisters Mrs Julia Brandes and Mrs Margaret McAulisse.

Ison Conviction Upheld by Court
The First District Court of Appeals upheld Don Ison's bribery conviction. Arnold Morelli said the case will be appealed to the Ohio Supreme Court. Ison was found guilty of accepting bribes to influence a decision by Judge Lou J. Schneider in Fration County.

Funeral services set for Forrest B. Neal in Piketon
