Purchaser Wins Quiet Title to Amelia Real Estate
Last spring Hassie Herron and Joan Herron filed suit in the common pleas court to quiet title against heirs of John G R Calhoun who died in 1896. The will left the property to his widow Caroline and then to three children. An unrecorded agreement allowed sale by the widow to Lydia Herron who then deeded to Hassie Herron. part sold to John and Chas Hutson and remainder left to Hassie and Joan. Two Calhoun children are dead, leaving heirs, but Judge Davis ruled the Calhoun heirs had no interest and the Herron girls hold clear title. Griffith Nichola for defense.
